On September 12, 2011 the 9/11 Memorial was opened to the public. Twin reflecting pools now sit in the footprints of the World Trade Center buildings. The bronze paneling holds the name of every victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks and in the background are the largest man made waterfalls in North America. Beyond Planet Earth - Museum of Natural History
The Museum of Natural History's special exhibit, Beyond Planet Earth: The Future of Space Exploration, launched this November and runs through the summer of 2012. This exhibit highlights missions that are currently being planned to explore the moon, Mars, asteroids and moons of Jupiter in the near future.
